Brilliance – Truth in the Redwoods, Palo Alto, 2016

It’s the start of the holiday season and rain has arrived in Palo Alto (there is snow in the Sierras, too). The rain brings a bonus to photographers — the bright California sunlight backs off and the shadows soften. It’s a good time to revisit the Palo Alto Art Center. This photo was taken in the redwood grove between the Art Center and Library. The sculpture is called Brilliance. The the words read: “Know the Truth.”

Brilliance by Joe O’Connell and Blessing Hancock is a family of 6 steel sculptures spread about the grounds of the art center and library.
