In a university town, change is marked by the meter of the school term. A new school year starts in September— get the bicycle of your choice $299; plenty to choose from at the Campus Bike Shop. Most are returned rentals.

Weeks before the start of term, the bikes are readied for sale. They overflow the shop and fill up the plaza by Tresidder Union. Many of these shinny bikes will abandoned on campus at the end of term— the sheriff tags and picks up the discarded  bikes, and the cycle of change goes on.
