Historical Boston: Quincy Marker and Faneuil Hall in Dawn’s Half-light
From the window of my hotel room in Boston I looked down on Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall —It was Sunday June 6, 2009 and I was stopping over on my way to New Hampshire. Fog hung heavy over North Boston, and a light drizzle dampened the square beneath my window. The Grateful Dead were singing The Attics of my Life.
The Grateful Dead song goes:

The top floor attic of Faneuil Hall is the museum and headquarters of The Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, which is the oldest chartered military company in North America. The Honorables meet the first Monday of June to elect officers, a custom that was established in 1638. The museum is a treasure trove of Americana — Revolutionary War drums, flags, posters, swords— the attic storehouse of America.
