Monochrome wall, Free People Clothing Boutique, Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto

Cloudy and cool here in Palo Alto. The heat wave has broken, so I went for a stroll around Stanford Shopping Center looking for some photos for the weekly photo challenge: Monochrome.

The first photo was Free People; a good way to start the tour. Free People Clothing Boutique is a small shop that sells trendy clothes for women; right outside their door is the big dig that features several tractors and earth movers (that was my second photo).

All the shots for this challenge were taken with a Nikon P7700, a good point-and-shoot camera. The P6600 has a Monochrome Effect that I set to high contrast and high grain. On refection, I would rather take the images in raw mode and convert the photos to monochrome in Lightroom.

The challenge was a good one for me; a chance to learn my camera’s better—always a good first priority.
